Nadine Howard, Manager
Nadine joined pre-school in March 2010. She has overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of pre-school and undertakes administrative duties, having responsibility for admissions and registration, invoicing and Government funding. With childcare experience dating back to 2001, Nadine holds the following qualifications: CACHE NVQ Level 2 Early Years Care and Education; CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Pre-school; an Early Years Sector Endorsed Foundation Degree in Arts; Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Studies, Early Years Professional Status and the Institute of Leadership and Management Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management.
Trudie Hewitt Taylor, Deputy Manager
Trudie joined pre-school in February 2015 to support Special Educational Needs and at the end of July 2015 was assigned the role of Deputy Manager. Trudie is responsible for health and safety within pre-school as well as supporting the Manager with administrative tasks when required. Trudie worked just under 30 years with Oxfordshire County Council with Children, Young people and Families before being made redundant in one of the many rounds of OCC cut backs in 2013. Prior to this she worked for National Children’s Home, Scope and Arnopa Trust. Trudie has worked in a variety of settings, with a variety of service users including children with learning difficulties and disabilities, Family Centre/Day Nurseries, residential settings, young offenders and young people with Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol difficulties. Trudie is well-qualified, holding the following an N.N.E.B. (Nursery Nurse), Chartered Management Institute Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Certificate Management and Supervision, Asset Certificate in Risk Assessment, Open University Working with children and young people, She has attended many training events 'in house' within OCC, including Health and Safety and Wellbeing for Managers.
Val Flannery, Early Years Practitioner
Val Flannery joined pre-school in January 2012 as a volunteer whilst studying for her Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce (QCF). Val became a permanent member of staff in September 2012, where she completed her training in January 2013. She has since gone on to achieve her Level 3 Diploma for the Children's and Young People's Workforce (Early Learning and Childcare). She has two children and has previously worked as a registered childminder.
Rachael Webber joined pre-school in November 2017. Rachael completed her NNEB qualification in 2001 and has spent 16 years working in day nurseries with children aged 3 months to five years, working in varies roles, including management. Rachael has three young children of her own.
Mandy Dennis, General Assistant
Mandy Dennis has long-term links with Drayton Pre-school. Initially, Mandy was employed as cleaner and carried out this role for seven years. In 2013, alongside her cleaning role, Mandy joined to the team to provide staff cover, as required, during sessions. In 2015, Mandy was employed on a permanent basis as General Assistant and has recently stepped down from her cleaning role. Mandy lives in the village and has two grown up children. Mandy has five grandchildren of her own and four step-grandchildren. Four of Mandy's grandchildren attended Drayton Pre-school, the eldest now being 20 and one who has recently left to attend Drayton Primary School.
All staff have received specialist and/or generalist safeguarding training and hold certificates in paediatric first aid and Level 2 food hygiene.
